Vexar Entertainment presents:

Shelby County Flood Relief Benefit Concert and Auction

Proceeds to be donated to the Millington Crisis Center.

UPDATE: $787 raised and donated

On May 1 2010 the Mid-South was hit with torrential downpours that caused flooding in several areas. Millington, TN was one of the hardest hit areas in Shelby County. I work in Millington and pass by the destruction the flood caused every day. I see piles of destroyed furniture, carpet, and toys. I see vehicles still covered in mud from being under water. I see air condition units that now sit on top of vehicles after being positioned there by flood waters. The day after the flood, I saw several families wandering the streets with garbage bags of clothes because they are now homeless. There were also several hundred U.S.Naval personnel displaced when NSA Memphis base housing was flooded. ItÕs times like these that make you realize how much you have and how grateful you are to have been spared the hardship of having your home and possessions being damaged or destroyed.

Therefore, Vexar Entertainment wants to give back to the community, so on Saturday, May 15 Vexar Entertainment will be holding a concert and auction at The Stage Stop to benefit the Shelby County victims of the flood of May 1, 2010. We are looking for musicians to donate their time to put on a great entertaining concert for people to enjoy.

Acts will include:

9PM Š 9:30PM Š Tori Tollison

9:30PM Š 10PM Š Amy Jamison

10PM Š 11PM Š J.W. & The Outlaws

11:30PM Š 12:30AM Š Angel Down

1AM Š 2AM Š Black Horse North

In a time when people donÕt have a lot of money to spare, the auction will not include frivolous items that people donÕt need and canÕt afford, but will include items everybody can use. There will be gift certificates from local restaurants, like Memphis Pizza Cafe, and gift cards from local retail stores. The benefit concert and auction will begin at 9PM and go until 3AM. You must be 21 and up and there will be a minimum $10 donation at the door to enter. We hope everybody can come out and help out with this worthwhile cause.

Aside from monetary donations, we will accept non-perishable food items and clothing. Vexar Entertainment challenges all area venues and bands to donate their proceeds from the night of May 15 as well. All proceeds will be donated to the Millington Crisis Center. The Millington Crisis Center is a non-profit run by volunteers and every bit of money they receive goes back out and it all stays local.
