< Back To CD & Stage Review

"Sounds of Fire and Light" by Rind Stars is a perfectly crafted Pop Rock CD. Every track has the makings of a mainstream hit. Which is rare for any CD these days let a lone an independent one. Rind Stars are multitalented and versatile with multiple members singing lead and contributing complimenting harmonies.

"Fire and Light" has well written and intelligent lyrics. It's guitar driven and upbeat with crystal clear bass lines that fill the bottom end perfectly without over doing it. It also has solid in-the-pocket drumming with a few unconventional instruments tastefully added to round out this project.

There are several standout tracks on "Fire and Light" from "Offensive Gestures" to the appropriately named "Hemmingway" with its Dylan-esque vocals about a man's attraction to the sea.

Having seen Rind Stars perform live, I've seen first hand the talent, energy, and versatility within this band. "Fire and Light" does an awesome job of capturing this with its flawless production - Vexar Entertainment, Memphis, TN 6/20/07
