Build-A-Headquarters

Since the reemergence of some our favorite toy lines, the idea of modular playsets has come up since the toy companies, until recently, wouldn't take a chance on large ticket items. Not thinking we would ever get a headquarters, I began designing my own. Then Hasbro announce The Pit playset, so I put my idea on hold, and waited to see what we would get. The Pit is not a bad playset. I just don't think it's worth the $100 price point. Therefore, I put my idea back in motion.

The Build-A-Headquarters is more of a display piece rather than a playset. I've designed to to be functional and have many different options on how its displayed. One can lay the sections side-by-side in any arrangement to have a '83 Headquarters feel (seen below), or the sections can be stacked to be a Marvel Pit and conserve space (no picture yet).

Along the way, I'll be giving work-in-progress update along with detailed tutorials. While some may not want to tackle such a large project, they may be interested in learning how to make the earlier items I designed that this project will incorporate.

The image below is a design of certain areas I originally was going to design as Quonset huts to be separate from the original headquarters facility. Since redesigning the sections to be stacked, they will be incorporated as other levels in the new design.
