VexarDave’s “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” Prediction
VexarDave – 11/30/15
All of this is pure speculation based on what has been seen so far. But on the chance it’s true…
WARNING! POTENTIAL SPOILERS AHEAD!
I predict, in “Star Wars: The Force Awakens”, there will be a confrontation between Han Solo and Kylo Ren, and the following lines, if not verbatim then pretty close, will be spoken by the characters:
Kylo Ren: Skywalker never told you what happened to your son.
Han Solo: He told me enough! He told me YOU killed him!
Kylo Ren: No! I am your son!
Han Solo: No! That’s not true! That’s impossible!
Why do I think this?
1. It already looks as if co-writer/director J.J.Abrams is trying to hit ALL the points from the Original Trilogy.
a. The three main planets:
Jakuu – A desert planet = Tatooine
Starkiller Base – An ice/snow planet = Hoth
Takodana – A forest/wooded planet = Endor
b. Similar characters:
Rey = A combination of Luke & Leia – She’s like Luke in the sense that she yearns for a bigger destiny, but like Leia because she’s a strong woman.
Finn = A combination of Luke & Han – He’s like Luke, because he seems naive and unsure of himself, but like Han, because he’s a former Imperial/First Order.
Poe = Han – The cocky hotshot pilot
Han = Obi-Wan – The wise mentor that guides the young heroes on their journey
BB-8 = R2-D2 – The plucky droid
Chewbacca = Chewbacca – The loyal sidekick
c. Similar plot points
A droid on a mission with a secret
A Super weapon
2. Kathleen Kennedy, President of Lucasfilm, stated that the Star Wars trilogy movies are generational about the Skywalker bloodline. That means at least one of the new characters is a Skywalker. Not necessarily from Luke, but most likely from Leia with Han Solo. The candidates are:
a. Finn – No last name, but I assume that’s just because he’s a former Stormtrooper. It has been speculated that Finn may be derived from his Stormtrooper serial number. I don’t think he’s related to anybody previously seen.
b. Rey – the most obvious choice, because she seems to be the star of the movie.
c. But I think there’s one more – Kylo Ren. His surname is Ren because he now belongs to the Knights of Ren. And Abrams stated that Kylo is not his birth name either.
Therefore, I believe Kylo and Rey are siblings, and not necessarily twins. I think Kylo is older and was sent to train with Luke and his other Padawans. The Knights of Ren attack and kill all the Padawans except for the descendant of Vader. Luke believes Kylo to be killed with his other Padawans, and in true Jedi shame exiles himself into hiding after hiding Rey on Jakuu.
We know from the trailers that there is a confrontation between Rey and Finn and Kylo. It’s a good bet that it’s after the confrontation between Han and Kylo and that the body that Rey is crying over is none other than Han Solo himself.
Why do I think it’s Han?
Harrison Ford has always said he believed Han Solo should have died. He said a noble end to Solo would have been for him to sacrifice himself so the others (Luke & Leia) could live. Also, Harrison Ford has been doing a LOT of promotion for this movie. More than any other OT cast member. I’m sure that’s part of the deal for him to reprise the role one last time AND to get another Indiana Jones movie from Lucasfilm/Disney. Ford has always liked Indy more than Solo.
Any of the above is not hard for any Star Wars fan to come up with on their own, but all that, along with the following, is why I believe the actual words above will be said is because of…
“Star Trek: Into Darkness”
J.J.Abrams went through all the trouble to change the timeline in his first “Star Trek” so he wouldn’t have to adhere to any continuity just to turn around in “Into Darkness” and tell the Khan story again actually using lines from “Wrath of Khan” only reversing the Kirk and Spock roles.
Plus, Mark Hamill strongly insinuated in a recent interview that there would be a “Luke, I am your father” moment in “The Force Awakens”.
So, I say instead of “I am your father” it will be “I am your son.” And it will be the lines straight from “Empire” replacing father with son.
What do you guys think?
